Attention to detail, glass matters
Being a chef at home cooking, have you noticed that some cooking oil comes in glass and some in even tainted glass bottles?
That is because cooking oils, like many food items, do go bad and efforts are being made to keep them from going rancid and preserving freshness in avoiding direct sunlight, heat and other environmental effects.
Keeping the oil in a glass bottle and in a cool environment is one of the most important habits you can build in cooking healthy meals.
How does the glass work?
Cooking oil is what we consider an organic compound (things that are made from organic, or once living material). With plastic being derived from organic compounds and containing cooking oil, possible binding effect and leaching of the plastic into the oil gives the glass the CLEAR advantage in choosing for the oil bottle. Because glass is made from inorganic, non living material: sands.
