Food cost, power usage on fridge and other kitchen appliance included

Just like food, we wouldn’t want to waste

Cost of food is on the rise so does the cost of electricity

So considering the food cost, it should include everything that is necessary to maintain and keep the food fresh as you are consuming it.

Calculating energy cost of fridge or appliances

As a general rule of thumb (not include other variables: usage, equipment operating condition, environment and etc.), to calculate amount of power usage for an appliance as well as other electrical equipment do the following formula:

Watt* x Operating Hours Per Day (based on 24/day) = Watt-Hours per day

Watt-Hours/1000 = kWh per day

kWh per day x cost per watt = energy cost per day

energy cost per day x days of month (usually 30 or 31)  = total energy cost per month

*Note: if you do not have watt information, use Amps x Volts = Watts

Compare to your monthly electric

Take the above figure and it should give you a rough estimate about how much your fridge or appliance would be using, remember this does not include usage and other factors.
