Non stick on stainless steel?!, a learned skill, not the cookware.
For those who didn’t like to use non stick cookware : having to worry about it being scratched, and want to exercise your cooking skills to cook none stick on regular stainless steel cookwares, we has just the post here:
To cook non-stick on a stainless steel cooking frying pan takes just a bid of controlling the heat on the stove top dial, timing and understanding the smoke point of your cooking oil. When these things come together nicely, cooking can be easy pie, on a non stick pan.
Cooking challenge, fried rice
As we all know stir fry rice is one of those tasks many would rather use a nonstick pan but we can show how easily it can be done just as with a stainless steel pan.
First, use a proper cooking oil for the job, the one that has higher smoke points such as the REFINED coconut oil or olive oil then pull just enough of the oil to evenly spread to cover the surface of the cookware.
Turn on the heat to medium high to heat up the oil first: careful, not to exceed the smoke point of the oil and once it’s been heated up, incrementally turn down the heat slightly to keep the temperature constant without letting the heat keep going up to prevent burning of the oil.
Once you have the oil heated up and stabilize, then put in your ingredients such as things like onion, eggs, pepper and etc, then use a wooden spatula (as not to scrape against the pan, even for stainless steel) and start to stir and cook those ingredients.
Next, quickly put in your rice (preferably leftover rice from the day before from your fridge), then add a little bit more of the oil and your spices and condiments on top and start to separate the rice then stir to mix with the ingredient in the pan.
The key here is to constantly turn from the bottom of the pan to: first, keeping the rice and ingredient from burning at the bottom; second, evenly redistribute the oil in the bottom of the cooking pan while the wooden spatula is turning and greasing while cooking.
There you have it, a perfect stir fried rice on stainless steel!, repeat the flipping and turning on the fried rice until it is all evenly mixed with the ingredients and spices to your liking.
Now, cooking non-stick is just a skill you learn not necessary from the type of pan you use!
