Whatmenu: Joy of cooking; making of a pizza dough for beginner

Now days, we may found ourselves spending more time with our family and ultimately, COOKING.

Despite of some popular believes, cooking can be fun and rewarding but it take some discipline and focus.

Let’s take the making of a pizza dough for an example:

First proofing the yeast; 2 1/4 teaspoons, soak them in warm water (2 and half cups).

Next, preheat your oven to 115 degree F and put some flours (3 3/4 cups) in a mixing bowl then mix it with 2 teaspoons of sugar, a teaspoon of salt and 2 teaspoons of olive oil.

At this time, when you see the yeast is bubbling in the warm water (the water is moving), then add the yeast to the mixture on the mixing bowl then mix the content of the bowl with either a mixer or if you prefer manually, with a mixing spatula.

As the dough started to come together in shape, take a moment and think of the right consistency that you would prefer, don’t worry if you are doing this for the first time, the key is to add little flour at a time while mixing so the dough do not ended up too sticky (where you can’t scrape them off the bowl).

Once you got it to where you like it (either with a mixer, more likely, or with the spatula and hand kneading), then remove the dough from the bowl and rub some olive oil on the outside then put it back in the bowl to let it rise in the preheated and cooled down oven for about 1 1/2 hours.

The actual dough prep time is pretty quick, notice in this process on mixing and kneading the dough is only first few initial steps on getting the whole pizza done. Where every step along the way in making pizza lays out for the following step in an orderly and sequential effort.

Thanks to those people or restaurants, who took their time and understanding making a great pizza is all about the process of getting there.

With these thoughts in mind, bet you the dough would rise just as happy as you would envision and would enjoy your pizza when it came out of the oven!

Enjoy, shaping the dough, rounding or squaring it, however you want, when it rose.

Now  you see, cooking can be fun, don’t have to be bored, especially during the staying home for the pandemic!
