If you want fish for dinner or whatever meal you are planning for, tilapia may be top of your list (given you are sick of salmon or on a grocery budget).

It is mild taste without being fishy and most of time you can get it fresh (not previously frozen as previous post about texture difference between frozen and fresh)

Omega 3 vs Omega 6

There has been a lot of speculation on the amount of omega 6 vs omega 3 with tilapia.

Given the fact on tilapia has more omega 6 vs omega 3 ratio vs other fish like salmon (high omega 3 ratio), duly noted that tilapia are mostly farm raised which farmers often choose to feed their tilapia with corn (main source of omega 6 in US diet) or other grain containing high amount of omega 6.

Therefore, the fish gets what they eat: more omega 6!

However, if that is your concern on a tilapia and you have a pretty balanced diet on your omega 6 intake on other food groups, then choosing to buy from a better tilapia farmer may help with the ratio.
