Unlike many other leafy veggies (triple wash or more to get rid of the sands), just shave the skin and rinse off then you are ready to go. This is a god sent when it comes to adding it during the boiling of a pasta to cook just right without boiling an extra pod of water, save energy and lock the nutrition while it boiled with the starch water from the pasta.
