Sides are pals to our main course
While many American cuisine just have a single dish serving only one type of food such as steak, fish or hamburgers, in comparison to other ethnic cuisine which often have veggies and other sides that are cooked with the meat group to create its main course. Therefore side dishes are just as important to have as you would add peas to carrots.
Knowing your sides
First, knowing your sides are important if you want to totally enjoy your main course.
For example, you wouldn’t want to forget your baked potatoes with the steak or burgers without your french fries. And of course, for those who are thinking more greens: how about steamed broccoli or coleslaw to go with your fish order.
Preparing the sides
Luckily preparing those side dishes doesn’t have to take any more time, given all prep work is done ahead of the time. Just pop them in the oven to bake or steam on a steamer along with cooking the main course meal.
