Quick meal, chicken rice soup with broccoli

Pressing for time? Need something quick, perhaps just drop in the ingredients and let it cook?

How about broccoli chicken rice soup for dinner?

It is about the quickest meal you can make while doing something on the side but careful not to let the soup overflow and make a mess.

The steps we take to make our rice soup as in the order it appears:

Prerequisite: defrost your chicken, broccoli if it is frozen (cut and wash broccoli, if it is fresh).

1. Take out a cooking pot and fill it little over half with water.

2. Rinse and drop in your chicken (drumsticks or thigh if you like) and turn on the medium heat.

3. Cut and wash as few carrots and put them in with the chicken.
4. Cover with a lid and let it cook for about 7 mins or until you start to see the water bubbling.

5. Wash the white rice and put it in with the chicken and the carrot.

6. Maintain the heat until you see the water bubbling again with the rice.

7. Then turn the heat lower, quarter past the midpoint, covering with the lid and let it boil.

8. Watch it and make sure it doesn’t overflow with the lid cover.

9. Turn the heat even lower, 2/3 past the midpoint and make sure it is still simmering and set the timer for 15 mins.

10. Then put in your washed broccoli and keep the same heat for about another 7 mins
