Shrimp with Pepper

Shrimp is one of those ingredients that is very quick to prepare and cook straight from the freezer.  

Defrosting shrimp doesn’t really take any prep time, rather just plop them into cold water and a few minutes later, they are completely thawed for the cooking.

Well, let’s start with the dish: Shrimp with Pepper!


The ingredients: 

shrimp
green or color pepper
onion
garlic salt
white pepper
black pepper
sesame oil
bagel seasoning 
ketchup
butter 
corn starch
 
First fill about 1/2 pot of water to boil in medium high heat. 

Next wash and slice your pepper and onion.  

When the water is boiling, put in the washed and thawed out shrimp and let it simmer for a couple minutes: look for the curling of the shrimp for the sign of readiness, please check with your food thermometer (reaching the recommended internal temperature for the shrimp) then fish the shrimp out to a bowl. 

Pull out some of the water now a shrimp broth, to just a couple tablespoons full for the sauce and continue heating while preparing a corn starch mix: mixing with a tablespoon of water or a couple teaspoons of corn starch.   

Wait till the water is boiling high then put in the corn starch mix and stir (the water temperature must be high and boiling before you put in the corn starch, this to make sure we cook the corn starch on contact with the water).          

You should notice the sauce start to thicken from adding the corn starch mix.

Now put in the sliced pepper and  onion then stir fry a bid, then put in your cooked shrimp and stir to finish
