Celery: freshness that comes with a stick

Celery, get past the string, and you got the taste!

Celery is a great vegetable to have in the fridge. It is healthy, versatile, quick to prepare: cooked or fresh, and mostly, can’t argue with the fresh taste if you can get over the string.

Peel the strings

Celery stalks come with many string fibers, one must have a way to peel those off to get the crunchy and juicy taste of a fresh celery.

Here are the steps that may help

First, snap off the small piece on the end and you will notice it will be hanging by the celery strings.

Then start to pull on the strings.

Repeat the above on the other ends.

And to string more, just snap the remaining celery in half to get rid of more string.

Continue snapping the celery by half and then half until you are satisfied with the amount of the strings you have pulled off and the size of the celery pieces left.

Then dice and slice as needed or you can just use it as is since it is quite small at this point.

Enjoy the celery

Now the destringing celery should be really tender and crunchy, goes well fresh with salad, dip sticks or just cooked it for a dish.
