When one is not paying attention, he or she would be surprised to see just the&nbsp;turkey&nbsp;breast when opening.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>W<\/strong>ell, just as well, you get the premium portion of the&nbsp;turkey&nbsp;in smaller portions and the best part is that it might surprise you how well it tastes with gravy.<\/div>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">Let&#8217;s get started<\/h2>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><b>D<\/b>on&#8217;t cry over your&nbsp;turkey&nbsp;when you realize what you have and besides, it is Thanksgiving already, no time to go back to the store for an exchange.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>L<\/strong>et&#8217;s get start on your Thanksgiving&nbsp;turkey&nbsp;dinner<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>F<\/strong>irst preheat your oven to 325 F.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>T<\/strong>ake out the&nbsp;turkey&nbsp;breast, of course it has been defrosted by now!, and wash it under cold running water for a few minutes to make sure you wash it thoroughly.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>N<\/strong>ext, and this part is tricky, you might see a pouch for presumably holding the giblets, but be careful, many times the package company would include the gravy in this pouch. <strong>S<\/strong>o read it carefully before you open, it may be the gravy that you are pouring down the drain when you are looking for the giblets!<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>O<\/strong>nce you have safely stored the gravy from the pouch, you may just find a big enough pan, please be sure to allow clearing to hold some&nbsp;turkey&nbsp;juice once it is baking.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>T<\/strong>hen place the&nbsp;turkey&nbsp;breast opening, face down on the tray and pop it in the oven when it is done preheating.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>L<\/strong>et it bake accordingly: 12 &#8211; 15 mins per pound of&nbsp;turkey.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>I<\/strong>f you have an 8 pound&nbsp;turkey, that would take approx. 2 hours.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>W<\/strong>hile it is baking, peel some potatoes (one or two) along with some carrots and start to boil them in water until the potatoes are starting to get mushy.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>W<\/strong>hen the initial bake time is complete for the&nbsp;turkey&nbsp; fish out (with a strainer and leave the potatoes broth in the pot) and put in those carrots and potatoes in the baking pan with the&nbsp;turkey&nbsp;add some water if needed then pop back in the oven and raise the temperature to 375 F and bake it for another 35 mins or so until the&nbsp;turkey&nbsp;is cook to the internal temperature around 160 F and the&nbsp;turkey&nbsp;skin should turn golden brown.<\/div>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">Now on with the gravy<\/h2>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>H<\/strong>eat up the gravy you happened to save with medium heat and take the remaining potato broth and pour some in with the gravy while it is heating up.
