Does your fridge smell when you open it up?
Food stores in the best container maintain their freshness longer than others. Shouldn’t you consider your fridge a big container that keeps all your grocery investments fresh?
Extending the period between grocery trip requires a clean slate
Clean slate between groceries
Consider cleaning your fridge between each trip to the grocery store.
This way any preexisting molds and fungus build up in the fridge would get wiped out and to have a clean slate for your new grocery.
3 steps to a clean fridge
1. Make sure your kitchen sink and faucet has enough room to rinse the shelfs and holder from your fridge.
2. If there is enough room to rinse, remove removable shelves and holders from your fridge.
3. Clean and wipe you fridge with dish detergent using a clean towel and if you don’t have enough space to rinse your shelves and holders by the sink with the faucet then just clean by rising your towel and wipe to clean: same way by wiping rest of the fridge with towels to soap and rinse.
Make sure to rinse the towel to get rid of the detergent and start rinsing by wiping your fridge with the towel, around 3 times may be the charm, or until you don’t feel the dish detergent on your fridge. You may turn off the fridge while you wipe to save the energy bills.
When your kitchen sink and faucet give you room to clean and rinse with a sprinkler, start soaping the shelves and holders with dish detergent and rinsing them after you take them off the fridge.
Putting things back
After you have done the cleaning, put back those cleaned shelves and holders you took off from the fridge to the sink for cleaning. Or finish up the wiping to clean and rinse. Next you can put all those fresh grocery items back into your newly cleaned and disinfected fridge.
Enjoy your clean fridge, now your grocery will have a fresh start!
